Artist's Comments

I took this picture during our dance department's "Brown Bag" series, which they presented around noon every day for a week. I really hate the heads, but I'm can't help that I'm vertically challenged. ;)

In any case, I am submitting this for =WordoftheWeek's word for this week: LAMBENT

–adjective
1. running or moving lightly over a surface: lambent tongues of flame.

I love this picture because it's one of those moments that are still but have so much movenment contained within them - you almost expect them to finish their leap and go into eternity.

The heads in the foreground isn't so bad really! I think the only reason why the heads might bug you so much is because of the upper portion of the picture. If they weren't there your subjects would be directly in the middle with little interference.

You could try cropping the top just until you're satisfied. It might help.

Overall it's a really nice picture, it has a certain vitality to it, must be the dancers and whatnot ^^

Very nice. I don't think the heads are too awful because I feel they add a bit more to the composition of the picture itself.

The black and white is especially nice here. Good choice. ;)
