Oh man.
So much has happened since April, I don't even know where to begin. I'll try to give the Reader's Digest version, so bear with me.
School ended (I made the honor roll), and I moved in with an old high school friend of mine and his family for the summer because they had an open room and live about 10 mins away from my college. It was a fabulously lucky situation, and I feel really blessed. They are such amazing people - I simply adore them, and I could never thank them enough for opening their home to me. I got a job at the ITS dept. at Meadows (and became an expert at public transportation), and am now an RA for a gifted/talented program that they host at SMU. It's been basically a dream come true - I've been at school almost every day since I moved out
The ITS job and most especially the RA position have been a really great thing for me. It turns out my mothering tendencies make me a pretty dang good RA....fancy that!

What surprises me the most is that the kids seem to actually like me. Well, they aren't really kids - 8th through 10th graders. But still.
The family situation is still complex and dysfunctional, but I am finally beginning to get some distance on it. I hope that I'll be able to continue to do so in the future.
So many things have happened this summer, mostly good. This is a summer of transition, of change, and I am still smack dab in the middle of my metamorphosis. I haven't written a whole lot recently - a lot of journal writing, but unfortunately no poetry. The mood hasn't struck me in a while. I've posted some recent photography, but I've finally managed to completely mangle this camera [see
[link] for more details]. *sigh* I hate you Kodak. I don't know what I'm going to do without a camera.... does anyone have any suggestions? I've heard that Canon is really great.
I suppose all in all, for the moment at least, my life is pretty good. I am happy, safe, content, and loved, and school starts back up again in about five weeks.

P.s. I am pissed off at J.K. Rowling for copping out and writing such a trite ending instead of what could've been a literary twist. I expected more from you J.K.
